KHOU reports:
“She has a global platform and is doing some amazing work and I’m glad she’s a friend of mine.”
Rasmus presided over Beyonce’s 2008
wedding to rapper Jay Z. There have been rumors of marriage problems,
and family disputes, such as when video of an elevator altercation
between Beyonce’s sister Solange and Jay Z was made public.
Rasmus said he doesn’t follow the tabloids. “And I validate my information with a conversation with the individual.”
He also said it’s important to
separate the entertainer from the person. It’s part of the message of
his new book, “Love Period. When All Else Fails.”
“When we decide to love period, we’re
saying there’s nothing to follow the period. We’re gonna love you for
who you are, where you are, without conditions.”
Rasmus said Beyonce and her family have donated millions to the church to help house the homeless and feed the poor.
“She’s an incredible human being. Has an incredible heart and has been extremely helpful in our mission and our ministry here.”
It’s a ministry Beyonce has been a part of since she was just a young girl.
“She used to sing right here,” said
Rasmus. “I don’t remember the song but I do remember she had long
braids, tennis shoes and jeans on. A far cry from what she is today.”
We’re totally here for Beyoncé the Humanitarian. As much as the media brings attention to the drama, it’s good to bring attention to the positive as well.Check out the clip of the pastor’s interview below.
