According to TMZ, a response is required for any petition filed on the official White House website that gathers 100,000 signatures within 30 days. This one reached that figure in just 6 days.

The Central Bank Of Nigeria Earmarks N132bn Fund For Women

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) said that N132 billion out of the N220 billion Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Fund (MSMEDF) had been earmarked for women.

The CBN Branch Controller in Bauchi State, Malam Musa Muhammad, said this in Bauchi on Thursday during a sensitisation workshop for state governments, financial institutions and the organised private sector on MSMED Fund.

Muhammad explained that the amount, which represented 60 percent of the total fund, was earmarked for women considering the peculiar challenges women were facing in accessing financial services.

UK Store, Tesco Goes The Ofada Rice Way (PHOTOS)

Nigerian cuisine has finally taken a huge step in imprinting itself firmly on menus all around the globe.
The growing popularity of Nigerian food stores and restaurants has finally made United Kingdom retail giant, Tesco to stock up on some of the nation’s delicacies.

Jollof rice and Ofada stew are part of the crowd favourites and can now be bought from Tesco.
A pack of Jollof rice with Ofada stew is sold for £3.39 while a pack of white rice and ofada is sold for £3.99.

Each dish costs about N1000 which is relatively cheap compared to Nigeria where a decent plate of Ofada and rice goes for about N1200 and without as much meat as the U.K version.

The 19-year old superstar singer was arrested in Miami Beach this morning and charged with DUI, drag racing, driving on an expired license and resisting arrest by refusing to take his hands out of his pockets when ordered to do so by police. He also cursed at cops when he was stopped.

Lagos State University ((LASU) has been shut down indefinitely following what the school termed 'violent protest by students'.

The school management shared the bulletin above announcing the indefinite closure, and asked all students to vacate the school premises until further notice. Exams have also been put off until further notice.

LAGOS — Six members of a notorious robbery gang that has been terrorizing residents of Ajangbadi, Ilogbo and Ijanikin areas of Lagos State are currently cooling off  in the dreaded cells of the Special AntiRobbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja.

The suspects identified as Adewale Osoja, 21; Bala Yahaya, 28; Hasan Ado, 19; Ahmed Boladale, 20; Abiodun Olareaju 27 and Abbey Edward, 45, were said to have met their waterloo after they  attacked worshippers  at  Christ Authority and Power Evangelical Ministry, CAPEM, Vespa, Ijanikin, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, during a crossover night vigil on December 31, 2013.
