Boko Haram Kidnaps Two Prominent Emirs

The Federal Government through the minister of youth development, Boni Haruna announced amnesty for members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect.

The minister made this public at an event which took place at the International Conference Centre in Abuja to mark the Democracy Day.

The event was attended by President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo, former Head of Interim National Government, Ernest Shonekan, former Vice President, Alex Ekwueme, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Bello Tambuwal and a host of others.

Police Uncover Hideout, Arrest 26 Lesbians In Delta State

Police detectives in Asaba, Delta State have uncovered a hideout of lesbians around Awai road Asaba and have arrested 26 suspects.

The public relations officer of the state police command, DSP Celestina Kalu who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, said they were arrested while allegedly having sex with one another at their hideout.

The police spokesperson who explained that the suspects were caught naked, averred that the hideout harbours perpetrators of various criminal activities especially lesbianism.

Maya Angelou, a renowned poet, novelist and actress whose work defied description under a simple label, has died, her literary agent, Helen Brann, said Wednesday.

She died at her home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Brann said.

A professor, singer and dancer, Angelou's work spans several professions. In 2011, President Barack Obama awarded her with the Medal of Freedom, the country's highest civilian honor.

Air Marshal Alex Badeh, the Chief of Defence Staff, has revealed that the security personnel in Nigeria have located where members of Boko Haram are keeping the 200+ school girls abducted on April 14th.

Alex Badeh said the military would not use force to release the girls because of the need to prevent the insurgents from killing them, Punch reports.

The military said they do not intend to go without proper planning, so as not to endanger the lives of the girls.

52-Year Old Man Caught At Lagos Airport With Cocaine Packed As Candies

A 52-year old man, Onyejiaju Augustine from Imo State has been arrested by NDLEA officials at the

Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, while trying to smuggle 2.605kg of cocaine carefully and neatly packed as candies.

According to TiqIQ, since the video leak, the average price for Jay-Z and Beyonce tickets has dropped 13.5% on the secondary market. Before the video was released, the average price across all “On The Run” tour dates was $306.22, behind only Justin Timberlake and Paul McCartney for the most expensive tour of the summer on the secondary market. Now the price has dropped to $264.73, which is still in the top five across upcoming summer tours, but still a far fall from the pre-video average.

Nigeria's movie industry popularly called Nollywood is currently been threatened as ‘Nollywood’ is now a registered trademark owned by a Nigerian guy living in the States, Nicholas Opara.

According to the United States Patent and Trademark office, the trademark was issued to Nicholas of Kirkland, WA. on December 03, 2013. What this means is that Nicholas Opara now has legal ownership of the term "Nollywood" and every time someone uses that term, they either have to get permission from him or pay him royalties, making it a potential cash cow for him.

Graphic pic: Over 200 killed this afternoon in Jos twin bomb blast

OK, apparently the bomb explosion that occurred this afternoon at the densely populated Terminus Market near Murtala Mohammed way in Jos is more serious than we thought. The twin explosion, which occurred 30 minutes apart, reportedly killed at least 200 people according to eye-witnesses, making it deadlier than the Nyanya blast.

Bomb Blast Hits Jos More Updates....

At about 2:55pm today, Tuesday, May 2oth, a bomb exploded in  the central area of Jos, Plateau State.

The explosion occurred around a densely populated areas of Ahmadu Bello Way where the GSM market is located, The Nation reports.

The death toll is currently unknown, as security agencies have taken over the area and rescue operations are ongoing.
