Kingdom, UK, has finally come out to state that its not considering
sending troops to Nigeria to rescue the more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by the Islamists group, Boko Haram, in Chibok, Borno state.
This piece of information was disclosed on Wednesday, 30 July, 2014, by the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Andrew Pocock, while speaking to newsmen on board HMS Iron Duke, a Royal Navy Warship on a working visit to Nigeria.
According to the ambassador, the British Government’s offer of assistance to Nigeria in the rescue of the abducted Chibok girls does not involve deploying troops in Nigeria to assume any combat roles.

ABUJA — The Federal Government, Wednesday, took steps to douse anxiety over the possibility that Boko Haram insurgents are using the abducted Chibok girls as female suicide bombers.
Female bombers have carried out series of attacks on Kano city in the last five days, fuelling fears that those involved could be some of the girls being held by the terrorists. Also, former education minister, and co-coordinator of the Bring Back Our Girls campaign, Professor Oby Ezekwesili, has expressed fears that the abducted Chibok girls may be indoctrinated or coerced into being used as suicide bombers.

The Lagos State government has shut down and quarantined the
hospital where a Liberian, Mr Patrick Sawyer with the Ebola virus died in
Lagos.
“We have shut the
hospital to enable us to properly quarantine the environment. Some of the
hospital staff who were in close contact with the victim have been isolated. The hospital will be shut for a week and all
staff monitored to ensure the virus has not spread,” the Lagos State Health Commissioner
Jide Idris said.

EBOLA VIRUS Update: Lagos Govt identifies 59 contacts with dead Liberian victim
Ikeja - The Lagos State Government said on Monday that it had identified no fewer than 59 people who had contacts with Mr Patrick Sawyer, the Liberian who died of Ebola Virus in the state.
Dr Jide Idris, the Commissioner for Health, said at a news conference in Ikeja that the contact tracing became imperative to ascertain any possible transmission of the virus by the victim.
Idris said the identified contacts comprised 44 hospital and 15 airport contacts, including the Nigerian Ambassador to Liberia.

At the 18th session of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) held on Friday 18th July 2014, a Nigerian male contestant Sulaiman Abdulkarim Isah won the top honour in the international Quran completion category of the award.
The award comes with a prize money of
AED250,000 – which is equivalent to approximately N11 million. Isah beat
out other contestants from Qatar, Kuwait, USA and Bangladesh.
Contestants who scored 80 percent and
above were rewarded with AED30,000 each, while others who scored 70 to

anonymity said the news of Sawyer's death was relayed to Liberia by the
